The Future is Streaming
A look into the musical mind of DJ Matthew Future
Episode 21: A Little Moombah to Calm the Nerves
April 04, 2012 04:00 PM PDT
Hey there, thanks for pressing play. I have changed the podcast from a weekly mix show to a monthly and sometimes bi-monthly show. I will keep posting, so stick with me. I have been working on some Moombahton beats as to get ready for the summer because nothing goes together better than Moombah and a little sunshine. Please excuse any mistakes as this was another practice session of mine. Enjoy!

For the 20th episode of The Future is Streaming, Ryan Regan aka Sunshine takes over the podcast. Sunshine was a Murphy's DJ and is major influence for myself as a DJ. He is all about house music, especially big room tunes. So sit back relax, turn up your speakers, and enjoy the next half an hour.

Happy Valentines Day everyone! Being one of the best holidays today I thought it would only be right to record a mushy and love inspired mix. Hope this can be the soundtrack to an awesome night with your significant other.
Also special thanks to Jackson for being my hype man on this mix.

Thanks for checking out another episode. I finally got a pair of turntables so I have turned my room into a mini studio of sorts. For the past two weeks I have been in front of the turntables practicing nonstop - so I figured why not record one of my practice sessions. I took a very progressive approach to this mix and also used a different mixing style than i usually do - employing lots of filters and loops. This is what it sounds like when I'm experimenting. Please excuse some of the mistakes, but hey, that's why I practice.

Thanks to all the came out to DubHouse 2.0 this past Saturday. Firstgrade and I had a great time and I hope you all did too. This mix is all of mine and Firstgrade's favorite tunes from Saturday put together to give you something to remember 2.0.
Take My Hand - Treasure Fingers

As usual, thanks for pressing play and welcome back for another episode. I usually have a little freestyle session before I track list and record each week, to get me in the zone and I figured why not just record my freestyle session. This was all recorded without any track listing or preparation at all. I usually like to mix random styles of music to practice because it gets my mind working, so here is my random mind at its finest. This mix is seriously all over the place and I hope it's something you can enjoy.

Watch the Throne was the first major album to successfully mix Rap and Dubstep together and is the inspiration for this week's episode. Watch the Throne samples Dubstep artists such as Flux Pavilion and Cassius as well as using a lot of Dubstep inspired sounds. I was a huge hater of Watch the Throne because all the sampling from Dubstep but I have now come to the realization that Jay-Z ad Kanye West have something here. Dubstep and Rap are two genres that would never seem to mix but they do and it sounds amazing. To think that these two genres can't mix is simply thinking in black and white when in reality music, much like life, is nothing but shades of grey.

Hey there, thanks for pressing play. I was inspired by DJ Skeet Skeet's Media Contender mix that Firstgrade showed me. Check it out here: http://mediacontender.com/2010/05/11/mc-podcasts-0304-skeet-skeet-fashen/ Hip-hop is a hard genre to mix but I really do love it. There is a lot of bad hip-hop out there that ruins hip-hop's image and really turns people off to the the genre. I tired to incorporate the more laid back tracks with tracks that are meant for a club. Towards the end I was having too much fun and did not want to stop so I mixed in a few Moombahton tunes so there is a little treat for those that listen all the way through. Have a Merry Christmas and prepare yourself for the next DubHouse after break, its gonna be bananas.
Got to Move - Wil May

Hey guys, this is a short little Baltimore Club Music mix I threw together today. Bmore club is one of those genres that not many people like but I find it to be so much fun to mix. It just has so much energy and really keeps me on my toes while mixing. I hope you like this mix even though its so short.
Chasin Sky and Sand - Munchi

Hello there, thanks for pressing play. Nu Disco and Indie Dance is running through my mind this week. Nu Disco and Indie Dance have funky bass lines and that live band feeling that I think is so much fun. I had a great time making this mix. So break out your dancing shoes, turn up you speakers and have some fun with me!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I'm back in my home town of Baltimore this weekend for Thanksgiving and I did not feel like lugging my mixer through the airport so I'm kind of taking a week off. As you can see there is still a mix posted this weekend but it is not exactly new.
This week I'm taking a look back to one of the first mixes I ever made. It first appeared on Firstgrade's Dirty Thirty Podcast. It was the first mix I really put a lot of effort into. It's not my best but it's always nice to take a look back and see what I came from. This mix took me about a month to make while the ones I make now take me about an hour. In essence I'm thankful for having the freedom to DJ and to have so much support from my friends. What are you thankful for?
Yeah (AC Slater Remix) - Boys Noize

Many people have asked to hear more big room house podcasts and I am happy to accommodate. As most of you know I love big room house and am super excited that is becoming main stream and popular. I love being able to show you all new music that gets you into the house/dance music scene. I hope you enjoy this big, grimy, and fun mix as much as I do. See you at Murphy's on Saturday and I'll be in the studio with Firstgrade tonight so look out for another mix coming out late tonight.

After the first 3 songs I just randomly starting mixing and playing some of my favorite tracks. This mix is all over the place but I hope you enjoy it. See you tonight!

Hello again and thanks for pressing play. I have a love hate relationship with top 40 songs. I hate the originals but love all the remixes. This mix is pretty much some of my favorite mash ups and remixes of top 40 songs. Bump this while you pregame and I'll see you tonight!
Super Stobe (KillaGraham Bootleg) - Deadmau5 and Nicki Minaj

Hello all, thanks for tuning in for another episode. As a huge contrast from last week, progressive house is the subject this week. Progressive is my favorite style of house, I love how it is so melodic and easy to listen to. Progressive is what got me interested in dance music and has defined my style so far as a DJ. I'm a huge fan of the two Amtrac tracks I have in this mix and am shooting to produce music that sounds similar. See you at Murphy's tonight and the Dubhouse on Saturday with Firstgrade
Venice - Amtrac

Hey everyone, thanks for pressing play. MU is on break this weekend, so the extra time gave me a chance to try out a more technical mix. These songs are some of my new and old favorites and just about all of these are bangers. Hope you enjoy the weekend and have fun bumping to these huge tunes. See you all next week at Murphy's and at the DubHouse.
Oh and thanks to Firstgrade for letting me steal his slogan for the title.
I'm not your Toy (Jack Beats Remix) - La Roux

Welcome back and thanks for pressing play. Moombahton is the subject for the mix this week. Moombahton is a new genre of music that was started by Dave Nada out in DC and mixes elements from dutch house and reggaeton with some Latin flair. Moombahton gets its name from the slowing down of Afrojack's remix of a popular dutch house song called Moombah by Chuckie and Silvio Ecomo. Moombah was slowed down to the typical tempo of reggaeton and thus the genre and the name was born.
I think Moombahton is very unique and a lot of fun to dance to. Recently many DJs and producers from around the EDM community have been trying their hand at Mommbahton and its popularity is gaining some traction. Nobody knows whats next for this new genre but I can't wait to hear more.
See you tonight and Saturday at Murphy's
I'm On One (Skinny Friedman and Cassius Slay Remix) - Drake and Lil Wayne

Episode 3: Dancing on the Way to Class
September 29, 2011 02:50 PM PDT
Hello everyone, this week's mix is all the songs I've been jamming out to while on the way to class this past week. Some are old, some are new, but I love all these tunes and I hope you can find a few you like. I won't be DJing tonight at Murphy's but I'll be there Saturday night so I'll see you then.
Could This be Real - Sub Focus
Episode 2: Let the Bass Cannon Kick it
September 22, 2011 11:06 AM PDT
Hey guys, thanks for pressing play. This is my first ever attempt at a dubstep mix so please judge accordingly. Dubstep has not always been my forte and I am still learning. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this little mix. Oh and make sure you have your subs turned all the way up. See you at Murphs tonight!
Feel Good - Modestep
Episode 1: Big Room in a Dorm Room
September 15, 2011 06:23 PM PDT
As I said in the intro, these mixes are just some of my favorite songs of the week that have been stuck in my head. This week's episode is all about some big room house inspired from the Kaskade Essential Mix that dropped a few days ago. Not my best mix by any means but I hope you enjoy it and blast it as you party this weekend. See you at Murphy's! #pubsintoclubs
