A look into the musical mind of DJ Matthew Future
Episode 21: A Little Moombah to Calm the Nerves
April 04, 2012 04:00 PM PDT
Hey there, thanks for pressing play. I have changed the podcast from a weekly mix show to a monthly and sometimes bi-monthly show. I will keep posting, so stick with me. I have been working on some Moombahton beats as to get ready for the summer because nothing goes together better than Moombah and a little sunshine. Please excuse any mistakes as this was another practice session of mine. Enjoy!

For the 20th episode of The Future is Streaming, Ryan Regan aka Sunshine takes over the podcast. Sunshine was a Murphy's DJ and is major influence for myself as a DJ. He is all about house music, especially big room tunes. So sit back relax, turn up your speakers, and enjoy the next half an hour.

Happy Valentines Day everyone! Being one of the best holidays today I thought it would only be right to record a mushy and love inspired mix. Hope this can be the soundtrack to an awesome night with your significant other.
Also special thanks to Jackson for being my hype man on this mix.

Thanks for checking out another episode. I finally got a pair of turntables so I have turned my room into a mini studio of sorts. For the past two weeks I have been in front of the turntables practicing nonstop - so I figured why not record one of my practice sessions. I took a very progressive approach to this mix and also used a different mixing style than i usually do - employing lots of filters and loops. This is what it sounds like when I'm experimenting. Please excuse some of the mistakes, but hey, that's why I practice.

As usual, thanks for pressing play and welcome back for another episode. I usually have a little freestyle session before I track list and record each week, to get me in the zone and I figured why not just record my freestyle session. This was all recorded without any track listing or preparation at all. I usually like to mix random styles of music to practice because it gets my mind working, so here is my random mind at its finest. This mix is seriously all over the place and I hope it's something you can enjoy.

Watch the Throne was the first major album to successfully mix Rap and Dubstep together and is the inspiration for this week's episode. Watch the Throne samples Dubstep artists such as Flux Pavilion and Cassius as well as using a lot of Dubstep inspired sounds. I was a huge hater of Watch the Throne because all the sampling from Dubstep but I have now come to the realization that Jay-Z ad Kanye West have something here. Dubstep and Rap are two genres that would never seem to mix but they do and it sounds amazing. To think that these two genres can't mix is simply thinking in black and white when in reality music, much like life, is nothing but shades of grey.

Hey there, thanks for pressing play. I was inspired by DJ Skeet Skeet's Media Contender mix that Firstgrade showed me. Check it out here: http://mediacontender.com/2010/05/11/mc-podcasts-0304-skeet-skeet-fashen/ Hip-hop is a hard genre to mix but I really do love it. There is a lot of bad hip-hop out there that ruins hip-hop's image and really turns people off to the the genre. I tired to incorporate the more laid back tracks with tracks that are meant for a club. Towards the end I was having too much fun and did not want to stop so I mixed in a few Moombahton tunes so there is a little treat for those that listen all the way through. Have a Merry Christmas and prepare yourself for the next DubHouse after break, its gonna be bananas.

Hey guys, this is a short little Baltimore Club Music mix I threw together today. Bmore club is one of those genres that not many people like but I find it to be so much fun to mix. It just has so much energy and really keeps me on my toes while mixing. I hope you like this mix even though its so short.

Hello there, thanks for pressing play. Nu Disco and Indie Dance is running through my mind this week. Nu Disco and Indie Dance have funky bass lines and that live band feeling that I think is so much fun. I had a great time making this mix. So break out your dancing shoes, turn up you speakers and have some fun with me!
